Active and Passive Voice

— A sentence is written in voice when the subject of the sentence completes the of the verb.
— Example: Ms. Rostoff has boxes of tissues decorated with kittens lined up on the table (Anderson 77).
— A sentence is written in voice when the object of the verb is made into the of the sentence (placed in the “subject” section of the sentence).
— Example: Boxes of tissues decorated with kittens have been lined up on the table by Ms. Rostoff.

Underline the verb and circle the complex object in the following sentences from Wintergirls:
1) “The wind blows my hair in my face” (Anderson 58).
2) “The paramedics zap my heart with their magic wands as we speed to the hospital” (Anderson 273).
3) “The restroom door opens” (Anderson 57).
